I recently came across this new world view on the BBC. Something like 85% of the population of Canada lives within 500 km of the American border and the North is VERY sparsely populated. Also, Canada has one of the lowest population densities in the world (3.5 people per square kilometer according to Wikipedia). So all this combines to make the population-driven map of Canada really interesting, and a little bit gross to look at.
But I guess we all kind of knew that Toronto is really just a big tumour on the rest of Canada.
